It's Been Awhile
It's been awhile since I posted to my on-line diary because the broadband service out here in PEI hasn't been working to well. I called them about getting the system back up and they told me that "the technician" is on vacation and he would be back the week before Christmas. I told them that I need to have service right now, so I flew a couple of guys up from Columbus to fix it. I know, it sounds like I spent a lot of money, but one of them was a kid on the Ohio Junior Blue Jackets who we cut last week and the other was Derek Walser, (that was an easy trade getting him back) whom I heard knows something about computers. The kid was the one who got the system up and running by showing me how to re-set my modem, so I let him fly back at no charge.
But I'm getting all kinds of calls about how great Hitchcock is doing and that I must have had my head up my ass when I was trying to get Agnew installed as coach. These calls are irritating and a waste of my time. Any coach can win hockey games, but not many of them can win hockey games coaching for me. We'll see how successful Hitch is when I trade for someone playing in the Northern League of Scotland, or I bring back Mike Sillinger, or I call up a couple of the Junior Jackets as injury replacements. That will be a real test of his coaching abilities and lets just say that I know it won't be easy.
But you know what I really hate? Its seeing The Dispatch sending their reporters over to interview him and not me. Who brought hockey to this town, anyway? If it wasn't for me, the unemployment rate in PEI would two points higher. If it wasn't for me, Columbus, you wouldn't get to see the Ohio Junior Blue Jackets. You would get the chance to hear my radio show. Who signed the fat guy to dance at hockey games? Yeah, think about all of what I have done for you when you are having your free chili at Wendy's. You're welcome.
